Happy 5th Anniversary 'Blackout'
Today it's such an amazing day in Britney's career.
Five years ago came out such a masterpiece, a fantastic album considerated one of the best pop album in music history and that only few months ago received platinum certification and is officially in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
Blackout, fifth album of our Queen B, has been recorded and released in a really particular period of Britney's life: she was divorcing by Kevin and was starting the first problems with health and the court because of Sam Lufti, she shaved her head and went in rehab but like a phoenix she's rebirthed from the ashes.
The story of Blackout arrives after the decision of label record to don't release and don't finish "The Original Doll" project, an album each Britney's fan is waiting for years and everyone thinks should have been another masterpiece because included such amazing and controversal songs like the famous "Rebellion", one of the few Britney's unreleased never leaked in the full version.
There's a sort of curse on Blackout album (and not also only on the album since "Gimme More" music video has never been released in its official version): the most part of the songs (less "Freakshow" and "Toy Soldier") has been leaked and released on the web several months before the official released (first planned for the summer 2007 and after postponed at the fall of the same year)... this fact forced Jive Records to anticipate the release of a month, from November to October and Britney came back at the studio for re-recording the songs, adding new effects and beats and changing the most part of the titles (for example "Hot As Ice" originally was named "Cold As Fire" and "Ooh Ooh Baby" was "Fillin' Me Up") and finally on October 26 the album came out leaving speechless all Britney's fans and also the most sceptical.
It's the first album produced exclusively by Britney because Larry Rudolph, her manager since the beggining, left her when she had her breakdown and in that period she paid everyone on her own and she collaborated with a lot of great producers - co-writing the most part of the songs - like Danja (which firmed the most part of the tracklists like "Gimme More", "Break The Ice" and "Get Naked") and Pharrell Williams ("Why Should I Be Sad?") and if when she released "Britney" her first album she said to feel the most part of the song on her skin and for this reason she decided to call that album with her name, with "Blackout" we can clearly notice that it's a sort of story of her life told in each songs, "Piece Of Me" speaks for itself.
The album sold over 5 million of copies worldwide till now even though the lack of promotion.
This is me with my two copies of "Blackout", one I got it just five years ago, I remember I came back from school and after had lunch I immediately went at the mall for bring my copy, the other one I won it during a game on an Italian radio two years ago.
